It can be desserts, dressings, marinades with foods, home seasoning blends, jams, jellies, pastries...........whatever, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much and have a great weekend! What are your favorite recipes for ';Food Gifts'; that you have made?
I usually make homemad Khalua and homemade vanilla extract to give to friends at the holidays. Sometimes I give my ';house salt'; in a Ball Jar or my version of a grill seasoning. What are your favorite recipes for ';Food Gifts'; that you have made?
I am a chef so when I give gifts, it's usually food of some kind. A lot of times it's not so much the recipe, but the packaging. Use pretty tins or cello bags, colorful ribbon, handmade tags, colorful tissue, a piece of cloth with a ribbon around the top of a jar, decorated handle bags. Include a recipe when giving marinades, spice rubs, etc.

Give a favorite recipe for ';dinner for two'; with a bottle of wine, 2 pretty linen napkins and a homemade dessert.

Here's one of my favorite food gifts -

Infused oils. Buy a large bottle of good olive oil, some nice bottles and some pour spouts with rubber stoppers like they use in a bar. (You can get bottles and stoppers at Bed, Bath and Beyond, Linens and Things or Pier 1 Imports) Make sure you boil the bottles to remove any trace of bacteria and let them air dry completely.

Rinse and air dry herbs and spices. They may have trace amounts of bacteria that will make oils go rancid quickly.

Pour olive oil in a sauce pan. Add herbs and other flavorings of your choice. Simmer for 15 minutes and strain through cheesecloth. Be creative, make it your own. Examples: Any herb by itself, Rosemary, Basil or Oregano and garlic, thyme and peppercorns, chilies. Fill bottles almost full and add a sprig of herb, peppercorns, chilies garlic, whatever your using.
Cheesecake; Pepperoni/cheese bread, coconut hay stacks, sugar cookies, butterscotch brownies, spicy mixed nuts, ginger mini muffins with glaze

Cheesecae: You must try this one! I made it last month for a Potluck at work and people were even fighting over the last slice! It is absolutely delicious! I have made it twice since for dinner parties it's good!

In a large bowl, mix together cream cheese and 1/2 cup sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time. Blend in vanilla and melted white chocolate. Pour half of batter over crust. Spoon 3 tablespoons raspberry sauce over batter. Pour remaining cheesecake batter into pan, and again spoon 3 tablespoons raspberry sauce over the top.
